Congenital pulmonary airway malformation in adults: A case series

Introduction. Two-thirds of patients with congenital pulmonary airway malformation are asymptomatic at birth, but during life they may develop symptoms such as recurrent respiratory infections. The purpose this paper is to present three cases adult in whom was diagnosed and treated the Institute for Lung Diseases Vojvodina, along clinical course disease therapeutic procedure. Case Report 1. A 24-year-old female a medical history asthma signs lower tract infections referred thoracic surgeon. Computed tomography chest features were consistent lung disease. left video-assisted thoracoscopic lobectomy performed. Histopathological analysis confirmed type II sequestration. 2. 41-year-old male left-sided spontaneous pneumothorax age 16 surgeon due moderate hemoptysis, one month after hospital treatment bronchopneumonia. On computed tomography, multiple cystic lesions found lobe. Thoracotomy I malformation. 3. third patient 16-year-old juvenile right-sided Sings necrotizing pneumonia, abscess, mediastinal lymphadenomegaly affected right Conclusion. In children young adults small inflammation, should be considered differential diagnosis.
